Yvonne has helped me so much over the past 18 months. I’ve gone from not attending school at all to finding something I love and have now been offered a scholarship post-16 in my area of interest after she found and supported me at a placement.
Yvonne took the time to get to know me and focused my interests so I know I now have a future in doing what I love. I also sat my GCSEs and Functional Skills which I didn’t think I’d ever do.
Emma (Youth Justice Service)
I am the Prevention Co-Ordinator at Salford Youth Justice Service and I have worked alongside Yvonne for over 15 years, either within the same team or in partnership within Salford Council.
Yvonne has a caring, nurturing approach with both young people and families and always ensures safeguarding is a priority. Yvonne has the skills to engage and support both young people and their families, and has a good understanding of their needs, whether that be SEN, mental health needs or any other needs.

**** needed a little extra help with her English ahead of her exams. Lisa was recommended to me. She is the most amazing person. She made **** feel at ease within minutes. She arrived with no confidence at all and within a few lessons that all changed. Each lesson was tailored to what **** felt she was struggling with. She then went on to take her exams feeling confident.
I could not have picked anyone better, she’s very patient and makes lessons fun to the point that **** will miss her when her lessons end.
Thank you Lisa. You’re Amazing!

Lisa has looked after my daughter for the last 6 months. Her patience, commitment and most importantly her amazing pupil-teacher relationship has been amazing. Nothing has been too much trouble and my daughter has really enjoyed her time with Lisa.
All I can say is she’s amazing.

Lisa has worked with all three of my children for GCSE English but all for different reasons.
My eldest son was failing English and so he went to Lisa for help twice a week for a month leading up to his exams and with her help passed his English. Next my youngest daughter was tutored by Lisa as she started high school in a learning support class. English was a subject she really struggled with. Lisa taught here English once a week until she caught up to the other children in her year and moved out of learning support.
Finally, my middle child had an English teacher in school who was unsupportive and knocked her confidence. Despite being good at English she would constantly question her own ability. Seeing Lisa weekly really boosted her confidence and filled her with strategies which allowed her to confidently tackle her exams.
All three of my children really enjoyed their sessions despite English being one of their least favourite subjects. They said Lisa made learning fun as you could sense her passion for the subject.

Lisa is a very kind and understanding lady. She is very motivating and believes in you. During my time with her, I have learned so much in just a short time! I came to her after feeling my English teacher hadn’t taught me all I needed to know for my exams. Going into my exams, I felt very confident. She’s just amazing.
Lisa asked me every week what I felt weak on or worried about and what things that I needed to recap, which was very helpful. She also tailored everything to how I learn! I have truly enjoyed going to her sessions each week and felt more confident week by week!
Thankyou for helping and supporting me each week Lisa and giving me confidence that I can do this!
